14k Solid Yellow Gold and Natural Lapis Pendant

Lapis lazuli is primarily composed of lazurite, pyrite, diopside, and calcite, and its earliest known mining occurred in the Sar-i Sang mines in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, as early as the 7th millennium BCE. These mines are considered the world’s oldest known commercial gemstone sources and have been continuously exploited for millennia.  Lapis artifacts dating back to 7570 BCE have been found in the Indus Valley Civilization, highlighting its early significance.
