The birth stone for March, Aquamarine derives it’s name from
the latin language, and the translation is “water of the sea.”
It is very rightly named, for this blue variety of beryl comes in a
cascade of light blue colors, from sky blue to a deeper ocean blue
to everything in between. It is an eye-clean stone, free from the
inclusions that characterize its distant cousin, emerald.
In medieval times, aquamarine was worn to cure the effects of
poison, and sailors used to go on voyages with aquamarine under
their pillows for good sailing and safe return. While the lure of this
gemstone has changed since then, it still remains one of the most
drawing and captivating stones in the colored gemstone world.
Aquamarine arouses sympathy, trust, harmony and friendship for
